A First Look at Pokémon TCG’s Black Bolt and White Flare Dual Sets
The Pokémon Trading Card Game is set to captivate fans again with the dual expansion sets, Black Bolt and White Flare, releasing July 18, 2025, in the U.S. These sets celebrate the Unova region, featuring all 156 Pokémon from Generation V, including the legendary Reshiram and Zekrom.
Each set contains over 170 cards, totaling more than 300 combined. Collectors will enjoy mirror holofoil versions of select cards, bringing a nostalgic flair that longtime fans will recognize.
A standout feature: every Unova Pokémon will have an Illustration Rare (IR) or Special Illustration Rare (SIR) card. It’s a visually rich and collector-focused set, packed with artwork that honors the full Gen V roster.
Launching alongside the expansions is the Black Bolt & White Flare Card File Set, which includes a themed binder for all 156 Pokémon, a promo Victini card, and six booster packs—three from each set.
While pricing hasn’t been announced yet, anticipation is high. If past sets are any indication, pre-orders may sell out quickly.
Mark your calendars for July 18—the Unova region is coming back in full force, this time in brilliant foil and jaw-dropping illustrations. Always check the official Pokémon website for more information.
